most of the local wine tasting rooms are open year ‘round from 11am to 5pm

take a short drive up the road to hendy woods state park and visit the old growth redwood grove. the trails are well maintained and easily accessible. day use parking is $6, so have exact change ready

the philo apple farm has an honor system fruit stand and beautiful grounds, where you are welcome to stroll in the garden

take a tour of the anderson valley brewing company

(707-895-BEER) or visit their tasting room and disc-golf course

the anderson valley historical museum in the old conn creek schoolhouse is open on weekends, february through november. the museum is maintained by volunteers from the anderson valley historical society

penny royal is a bio-dynamic goat dairy and winery just at the east end of town – they give farm tours that show off the happiest goats around with a cheese tasting finale

the farmhouse mercantile offers lovely, functional and well-made housewares and gifts. may through october the boonville hotel hosts a farmers market every saturday from 9:00 to noon

lemons’ philo market and jack’s valley store in philo have just about anything you might need, just 5 miles west in philo

be sure to stop by paysanne (across the street and a few doors east) for a scoop of delicious three twins ice cream, a home-made confection or a cup of lovely coffee

when not dining with us here at the hotel, you have several options

breakfast and lunch can be found at the mosswood market across the street in the farrer building - great pastries and daily specials

the menu at lauren’s, a 45 second walk to the south-east across from the fairgrounds, is filled with good, thoughtful home-cooking

you can pick up organic produce and picnic fare at boont berry farm, across the highway from the redwood drive in 


And finally, the anderson valley market is a good place to get a quick deli sandwich
